War Communism
War Communism was brought into action during the summer of 1918. It was very significant in that it altered many communist ideas. Industry was nationalized, labor became compulsory, private trade was suppressed, and peasants were forced to hand over all their produce except for bare essentials. This created a nation that could fuel the war much longer than the 'Whites' would continue it.
Summary
War Communism was a key factor as to how the 'Reds' won the war but Lenin decided it would not help the Nation recover.
