Vladimir Lenin
Lenin was one of the three main leaders of the Bolsheviks, as well as Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky. Together, they led Russia in a whole new way. Lenin agreed to the Brest-Litovsk Treaty, which ended the war for Russia. Lenin also redistributed land, nationalized all banks, confiscated private bank accounts, made foreign trade a state monopoly, and made all opposition groups illegal, as well as forming a counter-revolution committee. After the Civil War, between the 'Reds' and 'Whites', Lenin set up the Comintern in an attempt to spread Communism worldwide, this led to signing deals with countries to help rebuild. He also made another Treaty with the Germans, one that meant the Russians would make war materials for the Germans, in return, they received steel manufacturing technology. He also renamed the Bolsheviks to be known as the Communist Party, as well as naming Russia the Soviet Union.

Lenin brought about much change while heading the Soviet Union, he was a key factor in the rebuilding of the country after World War 1 and the Civil War.
